The Crazy 8 dips back to the 1960s with the quote "Fundamentals are the foundation for excellence" and the canvas upper, unique to this version of the Crazy 8, harkens to the 60s. The cracked texturing is meant to reflect the blacktop courts of Harlem where Kareem honed his skills during his youth and A purple and Gold Sockliner is a throwback to Kareem's days at Power Memorial Academy.
